Kids × Job Experience
Sakihokoru is a volunteer-run job experience program
where children in Tokushima explore their own futures
in their own words.
catchphrase
The name "Sakihokoru" (咲き誇る) means "to bloom brilliantly" — our wish for every child to shine in their own unique way.
There is no single right answer. So choose for yourself, and think for yourself.
Sakihokoru is a program where elementary and junior high school students experience real work and think about their future in their own words.
Rather than group work, each child individually chooses a company or organization, gathers what they want to know, and compiles it into a proposal.
We treasure every child's "I want to try!" spirit, and local adults walk alongside them every step of the way.
Not group work — each child shapes their thoughts at their own pace
Engage directly with local businesses and organizations to experience real work
Create a proposal based on your experience and submit it to the committee
There may be a gap between
"what adults want to teach children"
and "what children actually want."
— Sakihokoru founder
Parents, companies, and organizations often have things they want to convey to children — but there can be a gap between what adults want to share and what children actually need. That realization was the starting point for Sakihokoru.
So instead of adults "teaching," we designed an experience where children themselves "choose, think, and present."
Adults walk quietly alongside. That's the Sakihokoru way.
Four steps to complete your own career exploration proposal.
Each child independently decides which business or organization they want to experience.
Plan when the experience will take place and coordinate with the organization.
Put into your own words what you want to learn and what you'd like to try during the experience.
Polish it into a format ready for the committee — and take your first step toward the experience!
Whether you're still figuring out your future or already have something you want to try — join at your own pace.
Want to share the joy of your work with kids? Want to help shape the community's future together? We'd love your support.
Watch warmly as your child takes their first independent steps toward their future.
